Such a humble person with a great sense of humour. He was known as Pop to us and his trophies and awards are outstanding and unique. What a role model for our family, and I can say the same for my father, Hilton Heath Morgan. Barry Morgan is my brother and we now live in New Zealand.
Regards Jenny Kamins ( née Morgan)Jen Wrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06244480578020303324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327827266800393263.post-80239739053356991092020-09-08T11:24:50.867-07:002020-09-08T11:24:50.867-07:00Fred Morgan was my grandfather's elder brother...Fred Morgan was my grandfather's elder brother. I remember him as always having time to chat and giving very sound advice. He always seemed to be in my corner at family discussions, and I will always remember him with 'tons of love'.
Linda MacLean Broomfield. The Olympic silver medal is next on the list. His consistency over so many years is what is so remarkable. I remember him as very disciplined in all walks of life. His weight remained the same his whole life. He also managed to excel at all the other sport he played and even scored 50 runs against an MCC cricket team.
Kind regards
Barry Hilton MorganAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09840950023749881351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327827266800393263.post-90253452303695875012013-03-01T02:00:33.915-08:002013-03-01T02:00:33.915-08:00Thanks a lot for this precious information .It is ...Thanks a lot for this precious information .It is very close go my heart as my Oupa (Granddad) was part of the 1958 team(Dr G.A Smith) .As i follow great interest in all his Bisley stories. My Oupa plays a big role in my life with his positive attitude towards life...So this is a nice to have for his trophy cabinet...

Kind regards
Stephan van der spuy and Rina Smith (daughter).....
Rhodesia Rememberedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06644511584084003690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327827266800393263.post-45157906293294674032013-02-26T10:49:44.567-08:002013-02-26T10:49:44.567-08:00Hi

A story about him is that at a shoot on the Gatooma range he was so far ahead at the last range which was 1000 yards that when a buck walked onto the range at 900 yards he brought his site down shot the buck and registered a miss on his scorecard and went on to win the shoot, I'am not sure but they may
have butchered and braaied part of the buck. I was not at the shoot.Rhodesia Rememberedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06644511584084003690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327827266800393263.post-35714146989018910872012-01-16T00:56:45.619-08:002012-01-16T00:56:45.619-08:00Hi Di

My wife was Christine and we had a little boy, Craig. We played a lot of tennis at the Tennis Club (No.1 Colliery) in those days and we had mutual friends in the form of Sven & Kerstin Liedberg, amongst others. Saw your article and thought I would drop you a line. with best wishes, Earl Cameron, Mandurah Western Australia. He was revered by all the young and not so young shooters,
many of whom are among those mentioned as having received their colours. My husband, Ted Brent, and most of the other Air Force shooters only concentrated on Service Shooting in those days and it was some time before they got involved with Bisley. I spent many years as Secretary to the
RNRA and have happy memories of times spent on the various rifle ranges in Rhodesia and a couple of times at Bloemfontein for International
Competitions. Some of the nices people were involved with shooting - one of my favourites was dear old General Garlake.Rhodesia Rememberedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06644511584084003690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327827266800393263.post-67463748844618047842012-01-15T04:23:21.955-08:002012-01-15T04:23:21.955-08:00Thank you for profiling Rhodesia's greatest Fu...Thank you for profiling Rhodesia's greatest Fullbore Shottist - Fred Hilton Morgan. Not only was he a great shot but possibly the foremost expert on reading the 'weather' on an outdoor shooting range within the British Commonwealth. His prowess on the Fullbore range was legendary and greatly admired by all shooters of the other disciplines.

Derek MacLean
Member of the Shooting section
Rhodesia Olympic Team
1972 Munich Olympic Games.Rhodesia Rememberedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06644511584084003690noreply@blogger.com
